Welcome to
Salem Walking Tours.

I am Kenneth Glover and I invite you to experience Salem with me.

I share firsthand accounts of the people who made the history of Salem, using their words delivered with the theatrical flair of storytelling and song.  My tours are described by guests as a one-man performance in the streets of Salem.  I am described by locals as qualified and accurate.

Authentic stories of Salem’s history and its people including the times of English settlement as a fishing plantation, Salem Witch Trials, American Revolution and as America’s richest port.

In the local news

In an article published by The Salem Evening News, our local daily paper on January 4, 2021  “Street Names Offer Road Map To Centuries of History” an article about historian and author Jeanne Stella by staff writer, Dustin Luca.

“But there are others, too, folks like Kenneth Glover, Jim McAllister and Donna Seger, who have taken on the task of preserving the history of every street with a name and house with a story in the city.”

The 2.5 Hour Historical Walking Tour.

An overview.

I invite you to join me on a smart and entertaining walking tour of Salem, Massachusetts.  I am proud that I have earned a reputation for stories delivered with historical integrity.  Let me guide you through the historic downtown and the beautiful McIntire district on a tour you will remember fondly.  I am offering you the history of Salem and notable persons from settlement to the twentieth century including but not limited to the Salem Witch Trials.  Let’s avoid historic parking lots and alleyways and instead view Seventeenth century buildings, Old Town Hall, Hamilton Hall, The Pickering House, Ropes Mansion Garden and The Witch House on my route.  This 2 1/2 tour will include a bathroom break.  Questions are encouraged.  The tour gathers at The Coven’s Cottage, 190 Essex Street, Salem, MA at 11:45AM and begins at 12:00PM. (Noon)

Sincerely,

Kenneth Glover

Before you come to Salem.

A little house keeping if you plan to visit Salem.  check out Salem.org for travel information. September and October are peak months for visitors in Salem and expect parking to be at a premium.  The MBTA garage at the Salem Depot is conveniently located a few blocks from the tour and the most economical option and is paid through Paybyphone.com for location #4475.  Salem has a limited 5,300 parking spots available, so the early bird gets everything.  Parking is harder to obtain in peak season.  Come early, get situated, go to the Peabody Essex Museum, Thursday through Monday.  Be sure to keep your museum tag and ticket, gain the privilege to use their bathroom all day and stay for my tour.

I will be in Ukraine on a Humanitarian work trip from May 25, through June 24, 2024.  I am here through May 24, and tours will resume in July.
